邦楽の音色は、自然と融合した繊細なものです。この日本古来の音色を多くの人々に楽しんでもらうことを目的としているのが、桔梗の会です。邦楽特有の「間」の存在によって、音楽はとても奥深いものとなります。一人でも多くの人が、邦楽の美しさを楽しんでもらえましたら幸いです。

How do you think about the essences of Japanese traditional music? We understand that the essence of Japanese traditional music is the existence of “space”. In western music, space has no special meaning. However, in Japanese music, “space” represents the highly abstracted emotion in the music. In nature, we feel various emotion through the existence of silence. For example, between the sound of wind, the silence means the weakened wind. By listening Japanese traditional music, you can enjoy the different aspects of music from western music. We hope that you will discover the new concept of music through the experience of Japanese music.

桔梗の会の目的

桔梗の会は、邦楽の美しさを多くの人々に知って頂き、古典邦楽の確かな伝承と、現代邦楽の発展を目指して設立されました。その歴史は古く、今から50年ほど前に京都の地において故仲山義暢が設立し、現在は仲山暢香が主宰しております。

Kikyo (bellflower) academy of Japanese traditional music was founded to uphold the long tradition of Japanese music, and enlighten the people in the world by presenting the beauty of Japanese music. It is now presided over Yoka Nakayama.
